Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has stated that preparations for the grand Simhastha are progressing at a rapid pace. The Simhastha is recognized as the world's largest religious congregation, and the state government is committed to ensuring a clean and healthy event. Around 40 crore devotees are expected to attend, with up to 4 crore taking the holy dip every day.
Infrastructure Development for Simhastha
To facilitate the massive influx of pilgrims, 22 new bridges are being constructed across the Kshipra River at a cost of ₹853.46 crore. The Chief Minister emphasized that Simhastha is a confluence of faith, and development projects worth ₹25,000 crore are underway in Ujjain and nearby districts. These projects aim to enhance infrastructure, sanitation, and connectivity.
Training and Workshops
A short film showcasing infrastructure development projects was screened during a mega training workshop on the experience of Simhastha-2016, with a resolve for Simhastha-2028 held in Ujjain. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav participated in the workshop, which focused on lessons learned from the previous event and strategies for improvement.
According to the Chief Minister, the government's pledge is to achieve a clean and healthy Simhastha. The administration is working on comprehensive plans to manage the expected crowd of 40 crore devotees, ensuring smooth conduct of religious rituals and public safety.
Economic and Social Impact
The development projects worth ₹25,000 crore are expected to boost the local economy and create employment opportunities. The new bridges will improve access to the Kshipra riverbanks, where the holy dip takes place. The workshop also highlighted the need for effective crowd management, waste disposal, and healthcare facilities.
Dr. Yadav reiterated that the Simhastha is not only a religious event but also a platform for showcasing the state's cultural heritage and developmental achievements. The government is coordinating with various departments to ensure timely completion of all projects.
