Lissy Lakshmi Shuts Down Pranav-Kalyani Wedding Speculation
Actress Lissy Lakshmi has once again directly addressed and dismissed the persistent rumors surrounding a potential romantic relationship and wedding between Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan. The speculation, which has circulated in entertainment circles and among fans for an extended period, has now been firmly clarified by a recent social media interaction.
Social Media Post and Direct Denial
Lissy Lakshmi recently shared a heartfelt Vishu greeting with her followers on social media, writing: “Wishing everyone a Vishu filled with prosperity, wealth, health, and happiness! Wishing all a prosperous New Year.” The post garnered warm responses and significant engagement from fans across various platforms.
However, one fan commented on the post, expressing excitement about the possibility of a wedding between Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan. Lissy Lakshmi responded promptly and unequivocally, stating: “This is false news.” This direct reply serves as her latest and most public denial of the ongoing rumors.
Resurfaced Statement from Filmmaker Alleppey Ashraf
Amid the renewed discussion following Lissy's social media response, an earlier statement by filmmaker Alleppey Ashraf has regained attention. As previously reported by Manorama News, Ashraf had spoken in detail about the rumors during an interview.
Alleppey Ashraf recounted: “Some people are curious to know whether Kalyani will marry Mohanlal’s son Pranav. Many may wish for it, and many may believe it. I directly asked Lissy about this. Lissy said, ‘Ashraf ikka, if they had such a wish, wouldn’t it be something that would make both families happy? But there is no such relationship between them. They have shared a brother–sister bond since childhood. Appu has been like a hero to all of them—he would climb trees, jump over walls, and was a hero figure among the kids. Kalyani has not been in love with anyone so far. I’m sure of that,’ Lissy said.”
Clarification of Childhood Bond Over Romance
The relationship between Kalyani Priyadarshan and Pranav Mohanlal has consistently been described by those close to them as resembling a sibling bond rather than a romantic partnership. Their families have known each other for years, fostering a friendship that began in childhood.
Professionally, the duo has shared screen space in successful films like 'Hridayam' and 'Varshangalkku Shesham', where their on-screen chemistry received strong appreciation from audiences. Earlier, Pranav Mohanlal also appeared in Priyadarshan's directorial epic 'Kunjali Marakkar', portraying the childhood version of the character played by his father, Mohanlal.
Despite their collaborative projects and public appearances together, insiders emphasize that their connection remains purely platonic and familial, with no romantic involvement whatsoever.
