Prayagraj: A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody by police on Thursday on charges of killing his minor girlfriend. The victim's mother submitted an application at Sarayinayat police station on April 21, accusing the boy of luring away her 17-year-old daughter. An FIR was registered, and two police teams were formed to crack the case. On Thursday, the girl's body was found.
Details of the Incident
DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh told TOI that, "On Thursday, police found the girl's body near Harakpur Wardha canal road in Mauaima area after arresting the accused." The accused confessed to police that he befriended the girl through social media and had an affair with her for the past four months. He said that he called her on April 20. After picking her up from the village, he took the girl to the canal road and killed her with a sharp-edged weapon, he told the police. He then hid the body in shrubs.
Motive Behind the Murder
The accused told the police that she was pressuring him to marry her, but he was not ready, so he killed her. The police have arrested the minor and are further investigating the case.
