In a significant breakthrough, the Mumbai Police have successfully cracked the high-profile theft case at the residence of popular actor Abhimanyu Singh. The authorities have arrested a 40-year-old man with an extensive criminal history and recovered stolen valuables worth a staggering Rs 1.37 crore.

Arrest of a Serial Offender

The accused has been identified as Manoj Mohan Rathod, a resident of Palghar district. Police investigations have revealed that Rathod is allegedly linked to at least 14 other theft cases registered across Mumbai and its adjoining regions. His arrest came after a period of sustained technical surveillance, which led a police team to his locality in Palghar. The area was kept under watch for two days before Rathod was finally apprehended on Tuesday.

Details of the Lokhandwala Burglary

The theft occurred at Abhimanyu Singh's bungalow in the upscale Lokhandwala area of Andheri (West). The crime took place on the intervening night of December 29 and 30. According to officials, the accused gained entry into the actor's home by climbing through a bathroom window. Once inside, he allegedly made off with a significant haul that included gold, diamond, and silver ornaments, cash, and the entire safe containing these valuables.

The case was officially registered after the actor's 82-year-old mother filed a formal complaint. An FIR was initially lodged against an unknown person, setting the investigation in motion.

Recovery of Stolen Valuables

Following the arrest, the police interrogation yielded crucial information about the whereabouts of the stolen items. Rathod reportedly informed the investigators that he had kept a portion of the stolen jewellery with a jeweller, while the remaining items were concealed at his own residence.

Acting swiftly on this lead, the police teams conducted raids and successfully recovered the entire cache of stolen goods, valued at Rs 1.37 crore. This complete recovery marks a major victory for the investigating team.
