Nikhila Vimal's new film 'Pennu Case' has arrived in theaters. The movie released during the Pongal festival in 2026. In this film, Nikhila Vimal takes on the role of a clever con artist. She runs multiple wedding scams, tricking men by marrying them under different identities.
Fourteen Different Bridal Appearances
Nikhila Vimal appears in fourteen distinct bridal looks throughout the film. She plays multiple characters, including Durga, Rohini, Bindu, and Susan. Each character required a unique wedding appearance.
Two Hours for Each Transformation
In a recent interview with Mathrubhumi, Nikhila Vimal shared details about the demanding preparation process. She revealed that getting ready as a bride for each scene took approximately two hours. This included selecting different saris and jewelry for every wedding look.
"The whole wedding process was enjoyable," Nikhila Vimal said. "Choosing saris and jewellery itself takes time. For each wedding, the sari and ornaments had to be different."
She explained that wedding scenes in films typically require two or three days of shooting. However, 'Pennu Case' involved repeated wedding shoots. After completing each bridal look, she had to wait for the shoot while wearing the elaborate costume.
"Once the wedding scene is shot, that look is done," she noted. "But reaching that stage can be a bit tiring. Still, I truly enjoyed doing it."

Critical Reception
The Times of India reviewed 'Pennu Case' and gave it a rating of two out of five stars. Their review stated that simply having a woman in the central role does not make a film women-centric. The publication noted that 'Pennu Case' fails to meaningfully explore its female character. The film also does not offer strong commentary on relationships or deception, according to the review.
