Details of Asha Bhosle's Demise and Final Rites
Asha Bhosle's son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed her demise, announcing that she passed away on Sunday. He provided details for those wishing to pay their last respects, stating, "She passed away today. Those who wish to pay their last respects can visit her residence tomorrow at 11 am. The last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park."
According to medical reports, the celebrated singer succumbed to multiple organ failure. Dr. Pratit Samdani, who was treating her, informed PTI, "She passed away due to multi organ failure a few minutes ago." Bhosle had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday evening due to a chest infection and exhaustion, as confirmed by her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle in a social media post.
In a fitting tribute to her monumental legacy, the last rites of the veteran singer will be held on Monday with full state honors at Shivaji Park, a gesture that underscores her status as a national treasure.
