Prabhas' The Raja Saab Gets Sequel Greenlit After Strong Opening Day
Prabhas' The Raja Saab sequel confirmed after release

The much-anticipated fantasy horror-comedy starring Prabhas, The Raja Saab, has finally made its grand theatrical debut. The film opened to impressive first-day crowds across cinemas, marking a solid start for the star's latest venture. However, the audience's reaction has been a mixed bag, with viewers divided over its unique cocktail of scares, visual spectacle, and humour.

Sequel Plans Confirmed Amidst Buzz

Despite the varied word of mouth, the film has successfully held the public's attention. Adding significant fuel to the ongoing conversation, the film's creators have officially confirmed that the story is far from over. Plans for a sequel are already locked in place.

Sharp-eyed fans noticed clear hints towards a continuation during the first-day screenings. The makers later verified these suspicions, announcing that The Raja Saab Circus 1935 is the title of the next chapter. In a statement reported by OTTPlay, director Maruthi Dasari has already shed light on the approach for the second film, clarifying it won't be a direct narrative extension.

"We are setting up a lead for The Raja Saab Part 2, but it won't be a continuation of the same story," Dasari said. "It will have a completely new storyline and a fresh setup. The film will remain in the horror genre, but we are planning to take it to the next level, and the script will be something no one has touched in the horror genre. But it is too early to talk now."

Prabhas' Darker Avatar in Part 2

While the storyline will be fresh, Prabhas is set to return to the franchise. He will reprise his role as Raju, but reports from News18 suggest his character will undergo a dramatic transformation. The sequel is expected to present him in a more unsettling and eccentric form, hinting at deeper, darker psychological layers.

This evolution could potentially steer the series away from its current light-hearted fantasy tone into more intense and pure horror territory. The production team has not yet confirmed whether other original cast members will return for the sequel.

About The Raja Saab

The film, released in theatres today, revolves around a small-town man whose world is centred on his grandmother. Her fading memories inadvertently reopen old and painful family wounds. His subsequent decisions pull him back into a legacy connected to an ancestral house and a supernatural presence that refuses to remain buried.

Primarily set in Hyderabad, the movie is a blend of regional folklore, fantasy, and comedy. The ensemble cast features notable names like Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab.

The strong opening day response and the immediate confirmation of a sequel indicate the makers' confidence in building a new horror franchise around Prabhas, promising audiences a fresh and elevated experience in the upcoming chapter.
