The film's narrative centers on Bolai, a quiet and introspective child who develops an extraordinary bond with a young shimul tree growing in his courtyard. Having experienced the early loss of his mother, Bolai channels his feelings of solitude and affection into this tree, treating it as a cherished living companion. When circumstances lead him to a boarding school, the shimul tree becomes his most vital link to home and the cherished memories of his mother. However, an unforeseen incident involving the tree back home suggests that the delicate world Bolai left behind may be irrevocably altered upon his attempted return.
