The film features Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in leading roles. Recently, Chopra shared an update indicating she would rejoin the team.

Priyanka Chopra, who completed a portion of the film's schedule in February, took to Instagram Stories on Monday morning, hinting at her return. She posted a selfie wearing a black outfit with shades and a denim cap, captioning it: '@varanasimovie here we go!'

Chopra portrays Mandakini in the film. First-look posters show her holding a pistol while wearing a yellow saree, blending action with Indian culture. This marks the 'Don' actor's return to Indian cinema after several years in Hollywood.

The time-travel action adventure features Mahesh Babu as Rudhra, on a quest for a cosmic artifact, facing antagonist Kumbha, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film also includes a 25-minute Ramayana sequence where Mahesh Babu plays Lord Rama. The story spans locations like Antarctica, Kenya, and Varanasi, across timelines 512 CE, 2027 CE, and the Threthayuga. Made on a budget exceeding Rs 1300-1400 crore, 'Varanasi' is set for release on April 7, 2027.
