Global actress Priyanka Chopra has shared a deeply emotional tribute to the late playback singing legend Asha Bhosle, expressing profound grief over the loss of a voice that defined generations. The actress took to her Instagram account on Sunday, posting a nostalgic throwback picture of herself with the iconic singer alongside a heartfelt note that captured the immense impact Bhosle had on India's musical and emotional landscape.
Chopra's Heartfelt Words: A Voice That Was Home

Asha Bhosle's Passing and Legacy
Asha Bhosle, one of the most influential singers of her time, passed away on Sunday at the age of 92. She had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday, and her death was announced outside the hospital by Maharashtra's Culture Minister, Ashish Shelar. Her last rites are scheduled to be held at Shivaji Park on Monday at 4:00 pm.
Throughout her illustrious career, Bhosle received numerous accolades for her remarkable contributions to music. She was honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008, among many other awards, cementing her status as a playback singing icon.
Priyanka Chopra's Current Projects
On the professional front, Priyanka Chopra continues to film the highly anticipated action-adventure movie 'Varanasi', directed by SS Rajamouli. The actress plays the female lead in this project, which is currently in production in India. Reports indicate that the film's team will soon travel to Antarctica to shoot a segment on the Ross Ice Shelf, with several more months of filming remaining before post-production begins. The movie is slated for release in April 2027.
