Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is set to return in uniform with his much-anticipated crime drama 'Kartavya', which has finally received a release date. After a prolonged three-year wait, the makers have announced that the film will make its streaming debut this summer.

Release Date Announced

According to Variety India, 'Kartavya' has locked its premiere date on Netflix for May 15, 2026. The film is backed by Shah Rukh Khan's production house and directed by Pulkit. It has been awaiting its release for several years before finally securing a streaming debut.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Saif said during the first look launch, in a statement, "'Kartavya'… is a lovely piece by director Pulkit, and I'm really happy that it's coming out on Netflix."

Plot of 'Kartavya'

Set in the heartland, 'Kartavya' explores the complex intersections of law, family, truth, and duty. It follows a police officer caught in an intense moral conflict, even as escalating threats endanger his family. With personal stakes rising, he is forced to confront how far he'll go to uphold his duty.

Cast and Crew

The film features an ensemble cast including Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Saurabh Dwivedi, Zakir Hussain, and Manish Chaudhari. This project marks Saif's return as a cop, nearly seven years after the success of 'Sacred Games'. He was also most recently seen in the web series 'Jewel Thief', produced by Siddharth Anand.

Shah Rukh Khan's Upcoming Film

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of his film 'King'. The gangster film is slated to hit the big screens this December. The film, also starring Suhana Khan and Deepika Padukone, is slated to release on December 24, just days after the release of 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Dune: Part Three'.
