The story of Sameera and Akshai began in 2012 during the promotions for the movie 'Tezz'. Akshai, who runs a custom bike shop, arrived at the event with a specific expectation. "Someone told me there's this actress, Sameera Reddy. In my head, I was picturing Lara Dutta," he admitted in a recent interview with Hauterfly. Meanwhile, Sameera's first impression was sparked by his arrival on a massive bike brought for the shoot. "There was this big bike that came in for the shoot, and Akshai was on it," she recalled, noting an instant attraction. "I was like, wow, he's really hot. I started behaving like a teenage girl trying to impress him," she said.
Taking the Lead in Love
After the shoot concluded, Akshai hesitated to ask for Sameera's number, feeling a Bollywood star was out of his league. "I wasn't going to ask for her number. I'm like, Bollywood actress, no way. I'm not getting into this, you know," he explained. However, Sameera took the initiative, approaching him with a clever pretext. "Then she comes up and says, oh, you know what, this bike's really fancy. And I have a lot of friends in Bollywood. And she dropped some names and all. They would all be interested in bikes like this. So, you should get my number," Akshai recounted. He promptly took out his phone, and she gave him her number, marking the start of their relationship. "That's how it started. We went on a date, and the story began," he added.
Building a Family and a New Life in Goa
Sameera Reddy and Akshai Varde tied the knot on January 21, 2014, in a private ceremony. Their family has since grown with the arrival of two children:
- A son named Hans, born in 2015.
- A daughter named Nyra, born in 2019.
Choosing to step away from Bollywood's busy world and cameras, the couple now lives a serene life in Goa. Sameera has transitioned from acting to becoming a social media creator, where she shares content on diverse topics such as:
