Sapna Choudhary Reveals Shocking Career Struggles: 35 Cases and Performance Bans
Popular Haryanvi dancer and performer Sapna Choudhary, currently seen in the reality show 'The 50', has recently shared harrowing details about the darker aspects of her entertainment career. In a candid conversation with fellow celebrities Shiv Thakare and Dino James, Choudhary opened up about a dangerous phase that has left a lasting impact on her professional and personal life.
Legal Troubles and Performance Restrictions
Sapna Choudhary disclosed that approximately 35 cases have been registered against her due to incidents that occurred during her performances. The dancer explained that these legal troubles stem from shows where chaos erupted, leading to stampedes, chair-throwing incidents, and violent altercations among audience members.
"Mere upar 35 case hai kyunki maine show kiya aur wahan bhaag daud hogayi," Choudhary revealed, highlighting how simply performing at events has resulted in multiple legal complications.
The situation has become so severe that she now faces official bans from performing in several areas. Choudhary is specifically prohibited from organizing or participating in shows in Bapat, Barod, and Meerut, with local authorities refusing to grant permission for any events bearing her name in these regions.
A Terrifying Gangster Show Experience
Choudhary narrated one particularly dangerous incident that occurred when she and her mother were facing financial difficulties. Desperate for work, they accepted a last-minute show offer without asking for details about the venue or nature of the performance.
Upon arriving at a farmhouse venue, they discovered a gathering of approximately 50-55 men who appeared to be gangsters. The scene was alarming: 25-26 tables were set up with weapons openly displayed, and only two chairs were available at the back of the venue. The atmosphere suggested a celebration for someone recently released from prison.
During her performance, one man repeatedly approached Choudhary, whispering in her ear before walking away. When her mother expressed concern and requested to leave, they were told they couldn't depart until the dance was completed since payment had been made.
Escaping a Dangerous Situation
The situation escalated when the same man approached Choudhary from behind during her dance and kissed her on the cheek before running off. "I immediately walked off and sat down backstage," she recalled. "I said, 'I'm not doing this anymore. I don't care what happens.'"
Her mother courageously confronted the organizers, stating "You invite someone's daughter or sister here and then behave like this — this is not right" before firmly leading Choudhary toward the exit.
During their walk to the gate, Choudhary repeatedly told her mother, "Mummy, they're going to shoot... this is it," genuinely believing they might be shot at any moment. The pair managed to reach their car and escape, with Choudhary only breathing a sigh of relief once they were safely away from the venue.
Career Transformation Post-Bigg Boss
Choudhary noted that her career trajectory improved significantly after her appearance on Bigg Boss in 2018. Before that breakthrough, she faced constant chaos at events with frequent stampedes, chair-throwing incidents, and fights breaking out among audiences.
The dancer, best known for her hit song "Aakhan Do Kaajal," has built a substantial following through her performances and social media presence. Despite her current success, these early career experiences have left an indelible mark, highlighting the challenges faced by performers in certain entertainment circuits.
Choudhary's revelations provide a sobering look at the risks entertainers sometimes face while pursuing their careers, particularly when financial pressures force them into compromising situations with potentially dangerous consequences.
