Smriti Irani's Cooking Video & Kyunki Cast Reunion

Smriti Irani Finds Solace in Cooking Amid Busy Schedule

Actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani recently offered a rare personal glimpse into her life by sharing a video of herself cooking a meal. In the clip, which she described as capturing the 'pleasures of being me', Irani can be seen caramelizing onions for what appears to be a main course dish, though she kept her face out of frame.

Despite juggling a demanding career as a full-time actor and an active political figure, Irani has carved out time for this simple, personal pleasure. She reflected on how cooking for herself brings her genuine joy and relaxation, highlighting a more private side to her public persona.

Reunion with Iconic TV Show Cast

In addition to her culinary pursuits, Irani recently sparked nostalgia among fans by reuniting with her former colleagues from the legendary television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The original series, which debuted in 2000, became a cultural phenomenon during its eight-year run from June 2000 to November 2008, making it the longest-running show of its time.

Irani shared video clips on her social media accounts from a dinner outing where the cast enjoyed quality time together. The gathering included several original stars such as Gauri Pradhan, Apara Mehta, Hiten Tejwani, Sumeet Sachdev, Tina Vohra, Komolika Guhathakurta, Sandeep Biswas, and Ashlesha Savant.

Return of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi After 25 Years

This reunion comes at a significant moment, as the show's second season premiered in August 2025, marking a return after 25 years since its debut. Irani reprises her iconic role as Tulsi, while Amar Upadhyay returns as Mihir. The on-screen couple of Mihir and Tulsi was considered one of the most iconic pairings in Indian television during the 2000s.

The new season features a mix of returning veterans and fresh faces. Alongside Irani and Upadhyay, actors like Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, Ritu Seth, Ketaki Dave, and Komolika Guhathakurta have returned to their original roles. The show has also introduced new cast members including Rohit Suchanti, Shagun Sharma, Aman Gandhi, Tanisha Mehta, Prachi Singh, and Ankit Bhatia.

This revival not only brings back beloved characters but also introduces new storylines to captivate both longtime fans and a new generation of viewers.
