Snoop Dogg Takes Lead Role in Eli Roth's New Horror Movie

Rapper Snoop Dogg is set to star in director Eli Roth's upcoming horror film titled 'Don't Go In That House, B****!'. The announcement came through Variety, revealing that Snoop Dogg will not only act but also produce the movie and contribute to its original soundtrack.

Eli Roth Directs with a Vision for Ultimate Haunted House Film

Eli Roth, famous for directing movies like Hostel and Cabin Fever, will helm this project. He shared his excitement at a recent Bvlgari party on Rodeo Drive, explaining his concept for the film. Roth said he wanted to create the ultimate haunted house movie, blending elements from classics like House, House by the Cemetery, Hausu, and Friday, the 13th.

"I said we need to make the craziest one, something so insane people can't believe it exists," Roth told Variety. He completed the script over the holidays, though no other cast members have been confirmed yet.

Production Details and Shooting Plans

Shooting is expected to begin in June. Roth mentioned that he is currently budgeting the film and plans to apply for California's tax credit. If approved, he hopes to film in Los Angeles to involve local talent.

"I want to shoot it in Los Angeles so we can have all L.A. people on it," Roth stated. The production team includes Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh from MCT as producers, with Jon Schnaars and Holly Adams executive producing for The Horror Section.

Snoop Dogg's Multi-Faceted Role

Beyond acting, Snoop Dogg will write and perform the film's original soundtrack. Roth noted that Snoop has already provided original compositions for another project, Ice Cream Man, including a full section of the score and an end credits song.

This collaboration builds on their previous work together. Roth directed Snoop Dogg's 2012 music video La La La, showcasing their creative synergy.

Film Concept and Audience Interaction

Roth described the film's premise as a playful take on horror tropes. "People keep going in the house. People don't listen. What are you doing, bitch? Don't go in that house," he joked. He aims to incorporate audience reactions into the movie, like a Greek chorus yelling at the screen during scary scenes.

In August, Roth released a fake trailer for the film, generating buzz among fans. The title itself, 'Don't Go In That House, B****!', reflects this interactive and humorous approach to horror.

Updates on Other Projects

Roth also provided an update on the sequel to his 2023 film Thanksgiving. Production has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts with the cast but will resume once everyone is available.

This news highlights Snoop Dogg's expanding role in Hollywood, moving beyond music into film production and scoring. Fans of both the rapper and horror genres can look forward to this unique collaboration when shooting starts in the summer.
