Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan share a relationship that has witnessed numerous highs and lows over the years. The two actors have maintained a long-standing equation in the industry, and their friendship remains one of the most talked-about dynamics in Bollywood.
2004 Throwback Interview with Shah Rukh Khan
In 2004, Shah Rukh Khan spoke candidly about his relationship with Salman Khan. He admitted that he may have disappointed him at times. He also revealed that apologizing does not come easily to him, adding that he feels too old to learn how to say sorry now. During an appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 3, host Karan Johar asked Shah Rukh, “Do you think Salman Khan has a problem with you? Because you couldn't keep up with the friendship?”
Responding to this, Shah Rukh had said, “That's what I said. I can't keep friends. I don't know how to keep friends. I would not like to blame anyone for disliking me. I take all the credit for the fact that people love me. But if people dislike me, it has nothing to do with them. It's all on me.”
SRK's Emotional Confession
Shah Rukh further shared a deeply personal perspective on relationships and regret. He explained why he struggles to express apologies or reconnect emotionally in certain situations. He added, “If Salman Khan has an issue with me, 100 percent I have let him down. Farah has an issue with me, 100 percent I have let her down. If you (KJo) have an issue with me, then I have let you down. And I feel sad that I have let people down. The funny thing is -- as much as I know how to say sorry, I can't get myself to say sorry. And it has got nothing to do with you. As much as I love hugging people, I can't hug an old friend and say 'come back to me'. Because I couldn't do that with my parents. I hugged their dead bodies and told them to 'come back to me' and they didn't. So, I've lost that quality to call people back. And this is not to create any kind of news byte, but ya, if Salman is disturbed with me it's got to do with me and he is completely in the right. I wish I knew how to pick up a telephone and say sorry, but I don't know how to say sorry and am too old to learn that.”
The friendship between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan dates back to the 1990s. They shared screen space in films like Karan Arjun and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. More recently, the two actors appeared together in Tiger 3.
Eid 2027 Clash Avoided
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated box office clash between Salman Khan and Prabhas for Eid 2027 now appears unlikely. Earlier, both stars were expected to release their films during the same festive window. Prabhas' film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was initially planned for an Eid 2027 release. Around the same time, Salman Khan had announced a major project featuring Nayanthara. However, recent reports suggest that Spirit has been pushed to December 2027. The delay is reportedly due to Prabhas' packed schedule and the extensive production timeline. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is said to be targeting a release in the first week of December. This release slot had previously worked well for his blockbuster Animal, as per a report by Telugu360.
