Sudha Chandran Breaks Silence on Viral Mata Ki Chowki Video and Online Criticism

Renowned television actress Sudha Chandran, celebrated for her memorable roles on Indian screens, has finally addressed the widespread attention surrounding a viral video from a Mata Ki Chowki event. The footage, which showed Chandran appearing in a deeply spiritual state, circulated extensively across social media platforms, sparking diverse reactions and discussions.

Opening Up About the Viral Incident

In a recent podcast appearance with Paras Chhabra, Sudha Chandran candidly discussed the viral video and her personal experiences. She described the moment captured in the video, expressing that while she did not fully comprehend what was occurring, she felt blessed by the divine presence. "Many people say that Mata Ji comes to you. I don't know how or why it happens, but Mata Ji does come and bless me," she shared, reflecting on the spiritual encounter.

Recalling Her Spiritual and Personal Journey

Chandran delved into her spiritual evolution, acknowledging initial doubts about experiencing divine presence. "I had a very strong sense of doubt. I didn't know that divine presence could come to me, but whenever it did, it always blessed me," she explained. She connected this to her career beginnings, highlighting her role in the Telugu film Mayuri, which she noted as one of the earliest biopics in Indian cinema where she portrayed her own life story.

She also reminisced about her childhood, sharing anecdotes about her father's aspirations. "My father came to Mumbai from Kerala at a very young age because of family responsibilities. He worked as a typist and would often watch great dancers," Chandran recalled. "He used to say that once he got married and had a daughter, he would make her a dancer and make her name famous."

The Tragic Accident and Its Aftermath

In a poignant revelation, Sudha Chandran recounted the tragic accident that led to the amputation of her leg. "I once scolded my grandmother and told her, 'You keep chanting Murugan, Murugan all the time. I only want to meet God,'" she said. This led to a bus trip that ended in an accident, resulting in a small fracture that unfortunately developed into gangrene. "For fifteen days, they tried everything, but by then it had turned into gangrene. Eventually, my leg had to be amputated," she narrated, detailing the medical challenges she faced.

Responding to Online Trolls and Misinterpretations

Addressing the online criticism and trolls that followed the viral video, Chandran clarified her stance emphatically. "When people asked me if I felt something from within at that moment, I honestly couldn't understand it myself," she stated. She questioned the exaggerated claims some had made, such as drinking large amounts of water, and distanced herself from notions of divine energy possession.

"I don't know what it was. When did I ever say that Mata Rani's full energy came into me? At most, if anything happened, it was just a tiny fraction, an iota," she asserted. "And even then, I clearly say it was not her energy; it was her presence. It was a presence that came, and she chose my body."

Chandran firmly addressed the trolls, emphasizing respect for all beliefs. "Those who are trolling, that's a different matter. But I am not questioning anyone's faith or religion. I am not answerable to them, nor are they answerable to me. I am not standing here for validation," she declared, underscoring her personal spiritual perspective without judgment of others.

Magical Incidents and Father's Demise

Sharing a mystical anecdote, Chandran described an incident during a dance performance where a Brahmin gave her camphor associated with Lord Murugan. This tied into her father's final days, as she recalled his words from the ICU. "When my father was in the ICU for three days, he kept telling me, 'Don't worry, dear. When I go, Murugan himself will come to take me,'" she said. In a moment she found deeply symbolic, a peacock appeared outside the ICU just before her father passed away, reinforcing her spiritual beliefs and personal connections.
