Sutapa Sikdar's Emotional Tribute to Late Husband Irrfan Khan on Wedding Anniversary
In a deeply moving gesture, Sutapa Sikdar, the wife of the late actor Irrfan Khan, commemorated their wedding anniversary with a heartfelt note and a personal video shared on Instagram. The tribute not only celebrated their enduring love but also revealed intimate details about their relationship and unfulfilled dreams.
Recalling the Wedding Date and Unfinished Plans
Sutapa Sikdar posted the clip alongside a poignant message, explaining the significance of their wedding date. "Our anniversary was on the 23rd, and the reason to choose the date was to keep it the same as my birthday so Irrfan could remember. He just didn’t remember dates," she wrote. She extended a belated happy wedding anniversary wish to Irrfan, adding, "You wanted to marry again when we had finished 25 years of marriage. You wanted to do everything which we didn’t do on our simplest marriage possible, but even destiny sided with you, and we didn’t get to marry again with all the rituals et al."
She further connected the tribute to the ongoing Ramadan period, noting, "In my part of the world, we are fasting in Ramadan. And Ammi must be telling you up there, 'roze rakha kar Irrfan.' And to make you understand it better, she called you up there in Ramadan. Shaadi aur Ramzaan Mubarak!" Sutapa also mentioned visiting Irrfan's hometown, Tonk, to celebrate their special day, humorously recalling, "I took a trip to your hometown Tonk and celebrated our D-day! I can hear your laugh at the word D-day!"
