During a recent visit to the film's set, where lead actors Pavish and Naga Durga were filming sequences for the revamped song, the atmosphere was described as energetic and welcoming. Telugu actress and popular YouTuber Naga Durga, making her much-anticipated Tamil cinema debut with this project, expressed her positive experience.
"Everyone here has warmly welcomed me to Tamil cinema," stated Naga Durga. "I find myself relating deeply to my character, Avantika, who embodies a chill and joyful personality. Working with Pavish has been particularly comfortable since he understands Telugu and has been incredibly supportive whenever I've had questions. He genuinely made me feel at ease throughout the filming process." Regarding her participation in the song, the actress confirmed she will "have a few dance steps" in the final sequence.

Director Magesh Rajendran explained the team's deliberate decision to modify certain elements of the classic song to better align with contemporary values. "We consciously chose not to use the word 'pottapulla' as we believe a woman shouldn't be addressed in such a manner in today's context. Therefore, the opening lyrics have been thoughtfully changed to 'Vaadi Chellakutty Veliye'," he revealed.
The filmmaker emphasized the song's strategic placement within the narrative, appearing at a crucial emotional juncture. "Our film gives equal importance to both the hero and heroine, breaking from traditional patterns. Through this story, we're exploring an emotional dimension that hasn't been thoroughly examined in conventional love stories," Magesh remarked, highlighting the film's progressive approach.

Renowned choreographer Apsar, known for his work in successful films like Doctor and Parking, described the creative process behind the song's dance sequences. "While maintaining its folk essence, we've incorporated a western blend appropriate for a remix. The choreography represents a hybrid folk-cum-western style. Similar to how 'Arabic Kuthu' created waves, this is essentially a western kuthu song with contemporary energy," Apsar explained.
Lead actor Pavish shared insights about the filming environment and his character. "Currently, we're filming what could be described as a heartbreak song that feels authentic and close-to-reality," he said. "My character is naturally extroverted and connects easily with people. He's fundamentally a good individual who has unfortunately yielded to peer pressure. We've been shooting across various live locations in Chennai, which always brings an exciting dynamic to the process."
Technical Innovation and Visual Treatment
Acclaimed cinematographer PG Muthiah, with notable credits including Poo, Kanden Kadhalai, and Settai, detailed the visual approach for the song sequence. "We aimed for a dreamy aesthetic rather than replicating the traditional filming style of the original. Our goal is to create something distinctive without directly imitating Vadivelu sir's iconic version," Muthiah stated.
The cinematographer revealed technical innovations employed specifically for this song. "I typically avoid zoom shots, but for this particular sequence, I experimented with techniques like using a gimbal combined with zoom movements. The overall presentation—including dance movements and costumes—will reflect current trends rather than nostalgic 90s styling, making it relevant for today's audience."
