Tara Sutaria Reacts to 'Toxic' Delays: 'The Wait Will Benefit the Film'
Tara Sutaria on 'Toxic' Delays: 'Wait Will Benefit Film'

Bollywood actress Tara Sutaria is set to appear in the highly anticipated gangster action drama 'Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups', starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film has been one of the most talked-about projects in recent times, yet its release has faced multiple delays, leaving audiences eagerly waiting. In a recent interview, Sutaria addressed the repeated postponements, sharing her perspective on the situation.

Tara Sutaria on the Film's Delay

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Tara Sutaria revealed that she remains unfazed by the delays. She emphasized her patient nature and her focus on the broader vision for the film. “I am very patient. I don't look at it as, ‘If it doesn't release right away, what will happen to me?’ I am thinking about the bigger picture,” she stated.

Sutaria further explained that a film is a collective effort, not just the work of one actor. She noted that every individual involved in the production plays a crucial role. According to her, actors may not always be aware of the behind-the-scenes complexities that producers and directors handle. “As an actor, you can't look at the film as yours. It does not belong to you. It belongs to everybody who created it. There are reasons behind the delay, and I genuinely think those reasons are valid,” she added.

The Student of the Year 2 actress acknowledged the audience's eagerness, admitting she shares the same excitement. However, she believes the wait will make the film even more successful. “I completely understand the audience’s eagerness to watch the film. Trust me, I feel the same way, but I believe the wait will ultimately benefit the film and help it receive the kind of global embrace we are hoping for. It is definitely worth the wait,” Sutaria remarked.

Why Was 'Toxic' Delayed Again?

The film was initially scheduled for a worldwide release on March 19. However, the makers postponed it to June 4 to avoid a box office clash with another film and due to tensions in West Asia. Subsequently, Yash announced another delay. In his statement, Yash shared that 'Toxic' is a very special project for the team, and the overwhelming response at CinemaCon convinced them it deserves a larger global release.

In 'Toxic', Tara Sutaria plays a pivotal character named Rebecca. The film also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles. The makers have yet to announce the new release date. Stay tuned for the latest entertainment updates.
