On Thursday, January 15, Teja Lakshmi shared pictures from her recent meeting with Kamal Haasan. She recalled hearing stories throughout her life about how the superstar used to care for her as a baby on film sets.
"It was 2001," she explained. "I was just a baby on the sets of Panchathanthiram with my mother. Apparently, I wasn't cranky most of the time, but on days when I was, Kamal sir would carry me around and feed me my favorite snack to keep me from crying."
She added that while she doesn't remember these moments personally, the stories have been part of her family lore for years.
Urvashi and Kamal Haasan's Film Collaborations
The two actors have shared screen space in several memorable films:

Teja Lakshmi revealed that she almost had a chance to meet Kamal Haasan last year during an award ceremony. Her mother Urvashi was seated next to the superstar, with Teja right beside her.
"While she was busy going up on stage, she kind of forgot to introduce me to him," Teja shared. "Every other minute, I would sneak a look at him, mentally preparing how I would go up and say hello. I was so scared that for some reason, I wouldn't lie."
Unfortunately, Kamal Haasan had to leave the event early due to his busy schedule. "That day I actually cried," Teja admitted.
After this disappointment, Urvashi promised her daughter that she would introduce her to Kamal Haasan someday. Teja began praying daily for that moment to arrive soon.
The Dream Meeting Finally Happens
On Pongal day, Teja's long-awaited wish finally came true. She posted a picture with Kamal Haasan and her mother, capturing the special moment.
"I met him for less than ten minutes," she said, "but let me tell you all, those ten minutes felt like ten years. It meant everything to me. I felt every emotion possible, and more than anything, I felt deeply grateful."
She reflected on how life has a beautiful way of completing circles when the time is right, expressing gratitude for the meaningful encounter.
Following in Her Parents' Footsteps
Teja Lakshmi, daughter of Urvashi and Manoj K Jayan, is preparing to enter the film industry herself. She will soon make her acting debut in 'Sundriyayaval Stella', continuing the family tradition in cinema.
