The first FIR, a zero FIR, was filed on Saturday at the Regent Park police station in Kolkata by Shantilal Mukherjee, acting on behalf of the Artists' Forum. This initial complaint targeted the production house, along with individuals Saibal Banerjee and Leena Gangopadhyay, accusing them of criminal conspiracy, gross negligence, and disseminating misleading statements regarding the incident.
Rituparna Sengupta, speaking to the media, emphasized the collective support for Priyanka Sarkar, stating, "We are standing firmly by Priyanka in this fight for justice. The next legal steps will be determined and communicated soon as we proceed with our efforts."
Details of the Dual FIRs and Legal Allegations
The legal framework now includes two formally registered FIRs:
- First FIR (Regent Park Police Station): Filed by Shantilal Mukherjee, this zero FIR alleges criminal conspiracy and negligence against the production entity, Saibal Banerjee, and Leena Gangopadhyay.
- Second FIR (Talasari Marine Police Station): Filed by Priyanka Sarkar, this complaint invokes sections 106(1), 240, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. It names the same individuals from the first FIR, along with additional parties: Subhashish Mondal, Shantanu Nandi, and Chandra Sekhar Chakraborty. The allegations are severe, citing death by negligence, endangering human life, and actively suppressing facts through criminal intimidation.
Shantilal Mukherjee, the General Secretary of the Artists' Forum, confirmed the police registration of both complaints. He outlined the next phase, noting, "The police have officially registered both FIRs. Our forum will convene shortly to deliberate on the subsequent course of action. We are also seeking counsel from our legal advisors to ensure a robust pursuit of justice."
Prosenjit Chatterjee, who joined the delegation to Talsari, expressed cautious optimism about the legal process, remarking, "We accompanied Priyanka to Talsari and successfully filed the FIR with full cooperation from the police authorities. I am confident that the law will now follow its due course, and ultimately, Rahul will receive the justice he deserves."

An anonymous industry source revealed that the third season of the show has already commenced airing, with the final episode of season two broadcast on April 1.
The new cast for season three features actresses Shreya Basak in the protagonist role and Barninee Chakraborty as the antagonist. The source indicated, "The first episode of the third season aired on April 4, with filming currently taking place at Dashani Studios 2. The Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India is not expected to intervene in the production schedule."
However, the source highlighted a critical point, stating, "Only the Artists' Forum possesses the authority and moral standing to raise a formal objection and potentially halt the shoot in their pursuit of justice for Rahul's untimely death."
