Alia Bhatt's 'Alpha' Release Moved Up to July 3, 2026 to Avoid Clash
Alia Bhatt's 'Alpha' Release Moved Up to July 3, 2026

The much-anticipated spy thriller 'Alpha,' starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has reportedly moved its release date up by a week. According to industry buzz, the film will now hit theaters on July 3, 2026, instead of the previously announced July 10. This marks yet another change in the film's release schedule, which has seen multiple shifts over recent months.

'Alpha' Changes Release Date

While no official confirmation has been made, sources suggest that the studio decided to advance the release after a favorable window opened up at the domestic box office. Trade reports from Bollywood Hungama indicate that the shift was prompted by 'Dhamaal 4' moving its release from July 3 to July 17, freeing up the weekend slot. With no major Hindi film currently slated for that weekend, 'Alpha' is believed to have seized the opportunity. A source told the portal, 'July 3 has become the best day for Alpha. Dhamaal 4 is out of the way, and nothing major is scheduled for that weekend.'

'Alpha' Averts Clash with 'Moana'

The revised date also helps the film avoid a direct confrontation with Disney's highly anticipated live-action adaptation of 'Moana,' which is set for release on July 10. By arriving a week earlier, 'Alpha' can enjoy a two-week headstart at the domestic box office and a one-week run internationally before facing new competition.

July Film Releases

July is packed with major releases. The month kicks off with 'Minions and Monsters' on July 1, followed by 'Alpha' on July 3. 'Moana' arrives on July 10, while Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' and 'Dhamaal 4' are scheduled for July 17.

'Alpha' Changes Release Date History

'Alpha' was initially slated for a 2025 release, but the makers later shifted it to April 2026, and then to July 10. If the latest reports hold true, July 3 will become the fourth release date attached to the project.

About 'Alpha'

The film is touted as the first female-led installment of the YRF spy universe, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles. This universe has previously been dominated by male super-spies played by Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan. Amid speculation that the film may feature cameos from Hrithik as Kabir from the 'War' franchise and Shah Rukh Khan as 'Pathaan,' the latest reports suggest Alia's character could be an assassin turned spy. An official announcement regarding the release date is still awaited.
