Dhurandhar 2 Faces Box Office Slowdown in Fifth Weekend
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, the blockbuster film starring Ranveer Singh, has entered its fifth weekend at the Indian box office with a noticeable deceleration in collections. The slowdown is attributed to competition from the new release Bhooth Bangla, which has impacted its performance. The film, which began its fifth week on a subdued note, is showing signs of fatigue after a record-breaking opening phase.
Fifth Weekend Collections and Trends
According to data from Sacnilk, Dhurandhar 2 collected approximately Rs 2.70 crore net on Friday, marking a weak start to the weekend. However, it saw a strong recovery on Saturday with an estimated Rs 4.65 crore, followed by further growth on Sunday, earning around Rs 5.20 crore. This brings its total for the fifth weekend to Rs 12.55 crore.
While the weekend performance reflects some stability, the overall trend continues to show a sharp week-on-week drop. The film's collections have tapered significantly in recent weeks, as evidenced by the following breakdown:
- Week 1: Rs 674.17 crore
- Week 2: Rs 263.65 crore
- Week 3: Rs 110.60 crore
- Week 4: Rs 54.70 crore
This decline highlights the film's diminishing momentum, though it continues to add to its historic lifetime total.
Lifetime Collections and Global Standing
Estimates indicate that Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has now reached a net India total of Rs 1,115.67 crore. Its worldwide collections have hit an estimated Rs 1,756.64 crore, with an India gross total contributing approximately Rs 1,335.54 crore and overseas earnings estimated at Rs 421.10 crore.
With a worldwide gross of around Rs 1,757 crore, Dhurandhar 2 currently stands as the second-highest-grossing Indian film globally. It trails only Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which holds the record with lifetime earnings of about Rs 1,788 crore—just Rs 31 crore ahead. This narrow gap underscores the film's monumental success in the industry.
The slowdown in the fifth weekend, driven by competition from new releases like Bhooth Bangla, suggests that Dhurandhar 2 may be nearing the end of its theatrical run. However, its historic collections have already cemented its place as a landmark achievement in Bollywood, showcasing the star power of Ranveer Singh and the film's widespread appeal.
