Dhurandhar Box Office Day 2: Ranveer Singh's Film Soars

The high-octane spy thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, is setting the box office on fire. After its grand release on 5 December 2025, the film has shown phenomenal growth on its second day, putting it firmly on track to smash the coveted ₹100 crore milestone in record time.

Record-Breaking Opening and Day 2 Surge

The Aditya Dhar directorial opened with a thunderous collection of nearly ₹40 crore worldwide, marking it as Ranveer Singh's career-best opening to date. The momentum only intensified on Saturday, 6 December. According to data from industry tracker Sacnilk, the film witnessed a significant 14.81% jump in revenue domestically.

On its second day in Indian theatres, Dhurandhar netted an impressive ₹31 crore. This stellar performance has propelled its two-day domestic net total to a massive ₹58.75 crore. The film's Hindi occupancy on Saturday stood strong at 39.63%, indicating packed shows and high audience interest.

Worldwide Earnings and Path to ₹100 Crore

The film's dominance isn't limited to India. Dhurandhar's worldwide gross collection after two days has reached a staggering ₹77.35 crore. This includes a robust ₹7.6 crore from overseas markets and ₹69.75 crore gross from India.

With such explosive numbers from the first two days, the spy actioner is now in a prime position to cross the ₹100 crore gross mark globally by the end of its first weekend. The current trajectory suggests it is well on its way to becoming one of Ranveer Singh's biggest commercial successes.

Critical Acclaim and Star-Studded Cast

Renowned film trade analyst Taran Adarsh has heaped praise on the film, awarding it a 4.5-star rating. He described Dhurandhar as a "Power-packed. Gripping. A massive action spectacle." In a detailed post on X, Adarsh credited director Aditya Dhar for delivering a "knockout film – one of the best of 2025" and called it a "sure-shot winner." He highlighted the film's solid direction, commanding performances, and spectacular action sequences, while noting its long runtime and high violence quotient suitable for its A-rating.

Beyond Ranveer Singh, the film boasts an ensemble cast featuring heavyweights like Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, along with Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in significant roles.

Inspiration and Production

Dhurandhar is not just a fictional tale; it draws inspiration from real-life events involving geopolitical tensions and covert operations conducted by India's external intelligence agency, RAW. The plot weaves together narratives associated with Operation Lyari—a crackdown on criminal networks in Karachi, Pakistan—and is set against the backdrop of major historical events like the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. The story centers on Intelligence Bureau chief Ajay Sanyal.

The film is co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
