About the Film and the Upcoming Sequel

Dhurandhar is a nearly four-hour-long espionage drama directed by Aditya Dhar, with its narrative primarily set in Pakistan. The plot delves into covert intelligence missions and weaves in real-life historical events for emotional and political depth, including the Kandahar hijack, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. A notable part of the story unfolds in Karachi's Lyari area, known for its history of gang rivalries.

The ensemble cast features Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles. Produced by B62 Studios in collaboration with Jio Studios, the film hit theatres on 5 December 2024.

The franchise is already gearing up for its next chapter. Dhurandhar 2 is scheduled for a pan-India release on 19 March 2026 in five languages, aiming for the festive period of Eid, Gudi Padwa, and Ugadi. It is poised for a major box office clash with the highly anticipated Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, setting the stage for one of the most keenly observed theatrical battles of the year.
