The Suriya and Trisha Krishnan starrer 'Karuppu' continued its theatrical run with a notable decline in collections on Day 21. After a strong opening phase in its initial weeks, recent trends indicate a gradual slowdown at the ticket window.
Day 21 Earnings Witness Sharp Drop
According to Sacnilk, 'Karuppu' collected Rs 90 lakhs on Day 21, representing a sharp 41.9 percent drop from the Day 20 earnings of Rs 1.55 crore. The film earned this amount across 1,860 shows. With the latest addition, total India gross collections reached Rs 218.89 crore, while total India net collections touched Rs 189.35 crore.
The Tamil version continued to lead the film's earnings, collecting Rs 85 lakhs on Day 21 with an occupancy of 16.0 percent across 1,665 shows. The Telugu version added Rs 5 lakhs, recording an occupancy of 19.0 percent from 195 shows. The state-wise gross report highlighted Tamil Nadu as the strongest contributor, earning Rs 80 lakhs on Day 21. The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region contributed Rs 10 lakhs, Karnataka added Rs 5 lakhs, Kerala collected Rs 6 lakhs, and other regions contributed Rs 1 lakh.
Occupancy Numbers Remain Modest
The Tamil 2D version recorded an overall occupancy of 14.63 percent on Day 21. Morning occupancy began at 9.38 percent and increased slightly during later shows. Afternoon occupancy stood at 14.31 percent, evening shows recorded 12.31 percent, and night occupancy climbed to 17.31 percent. The Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy of 10.20 percent, with morning occupancy at 6.60 percent, afternoon at 9.40 percent, and evening and night shows at 9.20 percent and 9.40 percent, respectively. Despite the slowdown, the film's third-week collection has now reached Rs 21.20 crore.
Worldwide Total Approaches Rs 300 Crore Mark
'Karuppu' also continued adding to its overseas total, collecting Rs 25 lakhs overseas on Day 21. Total overseas gross collections have now reached Rs 79.50 crore. Combined with domestic earnings, the worldwide gross collection has climbed to Rs 298.39 crore, bringing the film very close to crossing the Rs 300 crore worldwide milestone.
'Karuppu' is expected to make its digital streaming debut on Amazon Prime Video in mid-June 2026.
