The much-anticipated romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has made an impressive debut at the Indian box office, collecting ₹11.82 crore net on its opening day according to latest industry reports.

Strong Opening Day Performance

As per data from industry tracker Sacnilk, the film directed by Aanand L Rai recorded an overall 20.50% occupancy across theaters in India on Friday. The film witnessed a steady increase in audience turnout throughout the day, beginning with 15.29% occupancy in morning shows, climbing to 21.67% during afternoon screenings, and reaching 24.55% for evening shows.

The final collection figures are still awaited as night show data continues to come in, but the initial numbers indicate a promising start for this spiritual successor to the 2013 hit Raanjhanaa.

Regional Box Office Breakdown

The film displayed varying trends across different regions of India. Delhi NCR led with the highest number of shows at 1,195 screens, followed by Mumbai with 896 shows, Ahmedabad with 518, and Pune with 407 shows.

In terms of occupancy percentage, Chennai emerged as the frontrunner with an impressive 46.67% overall occupancy, though this was supported by a lower number of total shows. Other strong performing cities included Bengaluru with 25.67% occupancy and Jaipur recording 26.33% occupancy.

Smaller markets such as Surat (10.67%) and Chandigarh (14.33%) showed comparatively lower turnout. The data confirms that metropolitan areas and Tier-1 cities contributed significantly to the film's opening day business.

Tere Ishk Mein marks the reunion of director Aanand L Rai and Dhanush after their successful collaboration in Raanjhanaa. Set against the spiritual backdrop of Banaras, the film portrays an intense and dark love story between Dhanush's character Shankar and Kriti Sanon's character Mukti.

The narrative explores a complicated romance filled with flaws and betrayal. When Mukti decides to marry another man, Shankar's heartbreak transforms into rage and vengeance, blurring the lines between passionate love and toxic obsession.
