Tu Meri Main Tera Box Office Day 5: Earns Less Than Rs 2 Cr, Trounced by Dhurandhar
TMMTMTTM Day 5 Collection: A Mere Rs 1.75 Cr

The box office clash has turned into a one-sided rout. Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's latest romantic offering, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM), is facing a severe struggle for audience attention, severely impacted by the continuing dominance of Ranveer Singh's spy juggernaut, Dhurandhar. The film's crucial first Monday test has resulted in dismal numbers, casting a shadow over its theatrical run.

A Steep Drop on Day Five

According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, TMMTMTTM managed to collect a mere Rs 1.75 crore in net earnings across India on Monday, December 30. This figure represents a steep 65 percent decline from its Sunday collection of Rs 5 crore. The film's total domestic nett collection now stands at approximately Rs 25.25 crore after five days. The movie, directed by Sameer Vidwans, opened on December 26 with a collection of Rs 7.75 crore but has seen its daily earnings decline steadily since its second day.

Dhurandhar's Monstrous Shadow

The stark reality of TMMTMTTM's performance is highlighted by a direct comparison with its competitor. On its 25th day in theatres, director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar earned a robust Rs 10.75 crore. This means the Ranveer Singh-starrer made over six times what the Kartik-Ananya film managed on its fifth day. The spy action thriller, in its fourth week, is continuing a monstrous run that has left little room for other releases.

Producer Dharma Productions, alongside Namah Pictures, announced that the global gross collection for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has reached Rs 40.20 crore. However, this figure is considered extremely disappointing given the film's reported lavish budget. The film's occupancy rate in the Hindi market on Monday told a similar story of low interest, averaging just 12.14 percent. The day began with a dismal 6.23 percent occupancy in morning shows, seeing only a nominal rise in the afternoon and evening.

A Setback for Kartik Aaryan

This underwhelming performance marks a significant setback for leading man Kartik Aaryan, whose previous release, the horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024), was a massive blockbuster, grossing over Rs 400 crore worldwide. The contrast is sharp: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 had earned Rs 18 crore domestically on its first Monday despite clashing with another major film, Singham Again.

Featuring Neena Gupta and Jackie Shroff in key roles with music by Vishal-Shekhar, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri now faces an uphill battle to cross the Rs 50 crore mark globally. With Dhurandhar showing no signs of slowing down, the immediate future for the romantic comedy at the box office looks challenging.
