Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni is making his much-anticipated return to the big screen with the upcoming village romance drama, Lenin, opposite Bhagyashri Borse. However, according to the latest reports, the film appears to be facing yet another delay.
New Release Date Speculated
As per a report by Gulte, Lenin is likely to be postponed from its scheduled release on June 26, 2026. The makers are considering a new date because some crucial work on the film is still incomplete. While there has been no official announcement, reports suggest that the movie could now arrive in theatres on July 10, 2026.
Post-Production Work Still Underway
It is also indicated that visual effects work and final editing are still in progress. The team is reportedly taking additional time to complete the film properly before presenting it to audiences. The makers do not want to rush the process and are focused on delivering a superior final product. Consequently, a delay is being discussed internally.
History of Release Delays
This is not the first time Lenin has faced a postponement. The film was originally slated to hit theatres on May 1, 2026. Later, the makers shifted the release to June 26 to avoid a box office clash with Ram Charan's Peddi, which was expected to release on the same date. Interestingly, Peddi was also postponed later, leading to further changes in the release calendar.
Earlier, the film featured Sreeleela as the female lead. She even appeared in the first glimpse released by the makers. However, due to scheduling conflicts, she stepped away from the project. Actress Bhagyashri Borse later joined the film as the heroine.
About Lenin
Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, Lenin is set in a village and appears to be a love story intertwined with family conflicts and power struggles. Renowned musician Thaman is composing the tunes for the film.
