Kerala Govt 'Lethargic' in Handling Nipah Outbreak: LoP Pinarayi Vijayan
Leader of Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan has accused the Kerala government of being 'lethargic' in its response to the Nipah virus outbreak. Speaking to the media, Vijayan emphasized the need for stronger precautionary and awareness measures, stating, 'The government must undertake stronger precautionary and awareness measures. That has not happened so far, and it should happen immediately.'
The Nipah outbreak has raised concerns in the state, with health authorities working to contain the spread. Vijayan's remarks come amid criticism of the government's handling of the situation, urging a more proactive approach to prevent further cases.
Health officials have been conducting contact tracing and isolation measures, but Vijayan argues that more needs to be done to educate the public and ensure rapid response. The state government has yet to respond to the allegations.
