Kochi: Actor and former AMMA joint secretary Ansiba Hassan has filed a criminal petition against fellow actor Tini Tom in the Ernakulam judicial first class magistrate court. In her complaint, Ansiba alleged that Tom engaged in continuous character assassination through abusive remarks and by raising ‘jihadi’ allegations against her. Taking note of the grievance, the court has directed Tom to submit his official response to the allegations by June 24.
Tom had earlier publicly denied the charges and claimed that the Drishyam-3 actor is raising the complaints due to “personal enmity”. Meanwhile, reports indicate a growing momentum within AMMA to expel Ansiba from the organization. The move comes in the wake of her public criticism against the association and its top brass. AMMA had previously issued show-cause notices to both Ansiba and actor Lakshmipriya, accusing them of violating the organization’s constitution through their public statements.
Undeterred by the disciplinary threats, Ansiba has maintained a firm stance, refusing to cooperate with the governing body. Sources suggest that AMMA plans to officially announce her expulsion just ahead of its upcoming general body meeting scheduled for June 21. Ansiba, best known for her role in the Drishyam franchise, has openly boycotted the show-cause notice. She stated that she feels no obligation to justify her actions to an administrative body that resorts to “unfair practices”. She claimed that the organization top brass, which has “consistently failed” to address her grievances, is now weaponizing “discipline” to target and harass her.
