Edwards, who resides in Georgia, argues that the proper venue for the child support case should be in Georgia, not California. However, Howard is pushing for the case to be heard in California, where she claims Edwards has financial ties.

In a significant development, Desroches, the mother of Edwards' son Amir, has submitted a declaration supporting Howard's claims. Desroches stated that Edwards has been making voluntary monthly child support payments to her from a bank account in Beverly Hills, California. Howard is using this evidence to argue that Edwards maintains operational and monetary connections to California, contradicting his claim of lacking meaningful contacts with the state.
Edwards' attorney has strongly criticized Howard's actions, describing them as a campaign of harassment, obstruction, and extortion. In a court filing, the attorney stated, "I have never encountered a litigant who has so flagrantly and repeatedly abused the judicial process." He added that Howard has made incendiary claims and filed meritless motions, making a mockery of the court systems in two states.
Despite a Georgia judge ordering Howard to pay Edwards' attorney fees and ruling that the case should be tried in Georgia, Howard continues to pursue the lawsuit aggressively.
