Archana Puran Singh Shares Personal Battle with Depression and Mental Health
Archana Puran Singh, currently captivating audiences with her role on The Great Indian Kapil Show, recently participated in a candid vlog alongside her sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan. During this intimate family discussion, they delved into their personal lives, with a particular focus on Aaryamann's journey and the challenges he has faced.
Revealing Her Own Struggles with Mental Health
While addressing her son's experiences with mental health issues, Archana disclosed that she has endured similar phases in her own life. She offered reassurance to fans, stating that difficult periods do eventually pass. She highlighted a common misconception, noting that many people believe financial wealth guarantees a trouble-free existence, but this is far from the truth.
Archana further revealed that she battled depression during her time on the popular show Comedy Circus. She shared, "People must be thinking you don’t know what I am going through or what I have gone through. And there was no hope. Trust me, I have been there. I have also gone through such times, once, not many times, when I felt that there was no point in living. There was no point. I felt like I would never be able to smile."
She elaborated on this period, explaining, "It was a time when I used to sit on the Comedy Circus chair, and I still laugh, and I laugh for real." This poignant admission underscores the hidden struggles that can persist even in moments of public joy and success.
A Message of Hope and Resilience
Archana emphasized the importance of perseverance, adding, "So at that time, when I felt that I would never smile, that time passed and a good time came. So please don’t give up hope. Don’t give up on yourself. Don’t give up on yourself. The world can give up on you, but you should not give up on yourself. That is the most important thing. And wherever you are today, we have all gone through that phase."
Her son Aaryamann echoed these sentiments, responding, "The truth is, every person has something going on inside them. On the outside, the situation may look perfect, but what a person is going through internally can be completely different."
Debunking the Myth of Money and Happiness
Aaryamann challenged the notion that wealth equates to happiness, stating, "People assume that if someone has money, then they must be happy. By that logic, Elon Musk should be the happiest person in the world, and I really don’t think he is. Look at Hollywood marriages and divorces. These are some of the richest and most famous people in the world. Then why? Because happiness is not directly connected to money."
He acknowledged that while money can provide comfort and solve certain problems, it is not a universal solution. "Yes, money can solve some problems. It can give you comfort. But money is not the ultimate answer to everything," he concluded, reinforcing the family's message about the complex nature of mental well-being.
This heartfelt discussion serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the shared human experience of overcoming adversity.
