His condition was critical from the onset, requiring him to be placed on ventilator support. The actor, Arjun Bijlani, who was in Dubai with his wife Neha for New Year celebrations, cut short his trip upon learning the news. He rushed back to Mumbai on December 30 to be by his family's side during this difficult time.
Family in Shock After Emotional Farewell
Despite the best medical efforts, Rakesh Chandra Swami could not recover and succumbed to his condition on New Year's Day. The news has left the entire family in a state of shock and deep grief. A close family member revealed to Hindustan Times that the suddenness of the event has been particularly hard to process, as Neha and Arjun had met the family just before flying to Dubai.
His last rites were performed in Mumbai on the same day, with the entire family gathering to bid an emotional farewell. Visuals from the funeral showed a grieving Arjun Bijlani, who was also seen comforting his teary-eyed young son, Ayaan, with a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
