Legendary singer Asha Bhosle's grandson, Chaitanya Bhosle, has shared that even at the age of 92, his grandmother was always eager to learn new things. During an exclusive interaction with IANS, Chaitanya revealed that she was never stuck in her ways, saying, 'She was never stuck that this is wrong and that is right.'
A Lifelong Curiosity
Chaitanya added that Asha Bhosle was always inquisitive about life and open to learning. She would often ask, 'Ohh, this also happens? Why does this happen? We can do this another way as well. Please tell me how.' He noted that after being convinced, she would even change her point of view when necessary.
He admitted that he was often inspired by his grandmother's ability to adapt, even at such an advanced age. 'If at 92 she could keep changing perspective,' he said, reflecting on her remarkable flexibility.
Embracing AI in Music
Giving an example, Chaitanya revealed how Asha Bhosle reacted to the use of artificial intelligence in music. While most singers might dismiss it as 'rubbish' and refuse to use it, she was different. She would try to understand the new technology, approaching it with enthusiasm: 'AI has come. Wow, interesting.'
He shared that when they played songs by late singers recreated using AI, she was extremely interested and engaged.
A Glorious Legacy
Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12 at the age of 92 due to multi-organ failure. She had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on April 11 after suffering severe exhaustion and a chest infection, as informed by her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle via a social media post.
Her death has left a huge void in the music industry, but she leaves behind a glorious legacy. Asha Bhosle recorded around 12,000 songs in multiple languages, cementing her status as one of India's most iconic playback singers.
