A wedding ceremony in a village under Parasia in Chhindwara district turned into a dramatic and tense scene after the bride garlanded her lover instead of the groom. A video of the incident, showing the bride running off the stage just before the ritual, has gone viral on social media.

Incident Details

The event occurred on the night of April 22-23, leaving guests in shock and sparking tension at the venue. According to reports, the groom's procession arrived from Parasia, and all rituals were proceeding as planned. The venue was packed with guests, celebrations were underway, and arrangements for the ceremony were completed.

As the couple was brought on stage for the garlanding ritual, the bride suddenly stepped away and placed the garland around a man present in the gathering, embracing him. This unexpected turn left everyone present stunned.

Chaos Ensues

The situation quickly escalated as members from both families engaged in a heated argument, which soon turned into a scuffle. The bride's family members allegedly assaulted the man and forced him out of the venue. Amid the chaos, the groom refused to proceed with the marriage and left with the procession without completing the ceremony.

Umreth police station in-charge Vijay Thakur told TOI: "The incident took place on the night of April 22-23. Its video has now surfaced. Both the girl and the boy were majors, we did not have much role in it. The groom side did not file a complaint, but while returning they gave written information saying that the bride's family members are angry, and if any mishap happens with the bride and her male friend, the groom side should not be held responsible as they left without any issue."
