Television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee has officially moved into her much-awaited "dream" home in Mumbai. The star, accompanied by her husband Shanawaz Shaikh and their young son Joy, celebrated the milestone with a traditional Hindu housewarming ceremony, which she documented on social media.
A Dream Realized in Goregaon
In an exclusive conversation, Bhattacharjee opened up about the profound personal significance of this achievement. She described the process as one requiring time, courage, and unwavering belief. For her, owning this home is not just a material possession but a deep personal fulfillment. "It provides a unique sense of luck, stability, pride, happiness and the emotions I can't express in words," she shared. The actress went on to affectionately call the property her "another baby," symbolizing one of her life's greatest blessings and accomplishments.
The new abode is a spacious 3BHK apartment located in the Goregaon area of Mumbai. Bhattacharjee emphasized that the space offers ample room for her family to create lasting memories and "write new stories." The interior design was meticulously planned and executed by Architect Trupti, resulting in a blend of modern aesthetics with traditional decor elements, as seen in the ceremony snippets.
Sacred Rituals and Family Blessings
The Griha Pravesh ceremony was an intimate affair filled with sacred rituals aimed at inviting positivity and prosperity. The celebration included close family and friends. Key Hindu rituals performed were:
- Kalash entry: A ceremonial pot symbolizing abundance.
- Hawan: A sacred fire ceremony for purification.
Both her husband Shanawaz and son Joy actively participated in the festivities. Bhattacharjee highlighted that the event was a sacred step to purify the space, ward off negative energies, and invite peace and positive energy before the family settled in permanently. "We enjoyed a great time," she said, reflecting on the joyous occasion.
A Home for Joy and Future Memories
The actress's sentiments were overwhelmingly centered on family and gratitude. She expressed excitement about gifting this home to her son, Joy, who was born in December 2024. "I'm also excited to have this house as a gift for my son Joy to play more, and make the house talk with his laughter and childhood memories," she said. Bhattacharjee believes her son has brought immense luck and happiness into their lives.
Adopting a philosophy of simplicity and gratitude, the actress stated she is living each second without greed, trusting in her faith. "I believe in God and he's helping me grow," she added.
