Television superstar Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya recently opened up about one of the most valuable lessons her parents imparted to her during her upbringing. In her latest YouTube vlog, the actress highlighted how they taught her to manage injuries and pain on her own, rather than running to them for every minor scrape or bruise.
Learning First Aid at a Young Age
Divyanka shared that her father introduced her to first aid from a very early age, a lesson that significantly contributed to her development as a strong and self-reliant individual. Reflecting on her childhood, she said, “Whenever I got hurt, my parents never made it seem like a big deal. In fact, my father taught me first aid when I was young. I used to take care of my wounds, bandage myself, and handle everything. To the point that when I had a major wound in Mumbai once or twice, I never even told my parents about it.”
Building Emotional and Mental Strength
The actress further revealed how these early lessons fortified her emotionally and mentally. “I did the dressing without telling my parents because I thought, why bother others when I can handle it myself? They made me independent so that I can do anything easily and I won’t cry,” she explained.
Mother’s Perspective on Raising Resilient Children
Divyanka’s mother, Neelam Tripathi, who appeared in the vlog, expressed her desire to raise her future grandchild with the same values and resilience. She stated, “You will become strong on your own. We have never kept Divyanka like a delicate flower. I believe if you want to make your child strong, you should start from day one.”
Neelam elaborated on her approach to child-rearing, adding, “We will let him or her play in the sand, we will make them swim in water. To become strong, you must be able to solve all your problems. And the second thing is, you should not do everything emotionally. If the child falls or stumbles? Let them. They will become normal on their own.”
Divyanka’s Journey to Motherhood
For those unaware, Divyanka is soon to become a mother. The actress, along with her husband Vivek Dahiya, announced the happy news in March on the occasion of Gudi Padwa through a joint social media post.
