Fans Stunned by Justin Theroux's Role in Prada 2

Justin Theroux's appearance in 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' has left viewers astonished, with many fans admitting they did not recognize the actor until well into the film. The 54-year-old star portrays Benji Barnes, a tech billionaire who becomes the new love interest of Emily Blunt's character, Emily, in the sequel featuring Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Blunt.

Unrecognizable Justin Theroux in The Devil Wears Prada 2

According to Page Six, Theroux's name is listed in the opening credits of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2,' but his transformed appearance made him difficult to identify for some audience members. His character appears halfway through the movie and provides financial support for Emily's latest professional endeavor.

Benji Barnes is depicted as a flashy and tactless billionaire sporting an orange fake tan. He also makes bold statements about artificial intelligence replacing human jobs, which adds a comedic edge to the character.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their surprise after watching the film. One viewer wrote on X, "Justin Theroux is unrecognizable in Devil Wears Prada 2. Saw his name in the opening credits and I spent the entire time waiting for him to show up."

Another user posted, "That's Justin Theroux??"

A third fan commented that Theroux was "unrecognizable" and added, "It took me several scenes to properly clock him." Another X user described his performance as "unhinged and hilarious."

Justin Theroux on Playing Benji Barnes

Theroux himself enjoyed taking on the unusual role. Speaking to People at the film's April premiere, he said, "The most fun thing about playing him was how silly he was."

He elaborated, "He's such an idiot. To be able to be ridiculous, wear ridiculous clothes — I have a really ridiculous hair thing going on, I'm bald, but then it's like my hair's falling out — that was the most fun."

The actor has also garnered attention recently for his real-life appearance. At the season two premiere of his Amazon Prime series 'Fallout' in Los Angeles last December, some fans commented on his fuller and smoother face.

"Did he do something to his face? Looks different," one person wrote under an Instagram post from the event. Another asked, "What happened to his face?"

Theroux attended that premiere with his wife, Nicole Brydon Bloom, 32. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in April.
