A felicitation ceremony will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday to honour noted film critic and cultural activist M F Thomas for his long-standing contributions to cinema and cultural discourse. The event is scheduled to take place at Cameo Light Studio in Ulloor.

Organised by art and cultural enthusiasts, the function will be presided over by Kazhakkoottam MLA Kadakampally Surendran. Filmmaker Shyamaprasad will deliver the keynote address, while Akkulam ward councillor Mini P S will extend felicitations. A documentary on Thomas, directed by Biju Banner, will also be screened as part of the programme.

Organisers Shehnad Jalal and Sreekanth Cameo have stated that the programme is open to the public. Thomas is widely recognised for his contributions to film criticism and cultural activism in Kerala. Through his writings and engagements, he has played a significant role in shaping film appreciation and fostering meaningful discourse on cinema and the arts.
