Lucknow: Hundreds of devotees visited gurdwaras on Thursday to pay homage to Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru, on his 420th death anniversary. The day was marked by prayers, shabad kirtan, paath, and langar in gurdwaras, where devotees gathered from early morning to remember the Guru’s sacrifice and teachings.
Sadar Gurdwara Observances
At Sadar Gurdwara, devotees assembled in large numbers to take part in prayers and listen to kirtans. Priest Gurvinder Singh spoke about the life and contributions of Guru Arjan Dev. Sadar Gurdwara president Harpal Singh Jaggi stated that Guru Arjan Dev’s martyrdom continues to guide people towards righteous living.
Yahiyaganj Gurdwara Events
At Yahiyaganj Gurdwara, a 40-day-long paath concluded on this occasion. Devotees sang shabads, including 'Gurmukhi sukh phalu piram rasu' and 'Kaljugi jahaju Arjun Guru', as part of the religious observances.
Alambagh Gurdwara Activities
At Alambagh Gurdwara, priest Mehtaab Singh led the congregation in soulful kirtans, while devotees offered prayers and remembered the Guru’s supreme sacrifice.
