HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old bodybuilder and YouTuber, known as Masood Chandi, was bludgeoned to death at his residence in Golconda on Friday evening. The assailants, including his brother-in-law, attacked him with iron rods following personal disputes. Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the accused.

Victim's Background

The deceased, identified as SK Mahboob, worked as an electrician and uploaded bodybuilding videos on YouTube under the alias Masood Chandi. He had amassed over 2,500 followers. "He wore silver jewellery and created videos under the name Masood Chandi," said Tolichowki ACP Syed Fayaz.

Details of the Incident

Around 3:30 pm, Mahboob's brother-in-law, SK Sohail, along with his associates Affu and Jaber, arrived at Mahboob's house in Kummarwadi, Golconda. Motive Behind the Murder

Preliminary investigations revealed that Sohail had married a woman from the Bada bazaar area of Golconda 18 months ago, and the couple had a six-month-old son. Both families were unhappy with the marriage, and recent marital discord arose as Mahboob allegedly mistreated his wife. On Monday, Mahboob sent his wife and son to her parents' house due to differences. "Mahboob's in-laws were displeased. Sohail and his associates came to confront him, and during the argument, they attacked him with a rod," the ACP explained.

Police Action

Three special teams have been formed to apprehend the fleeing accused. "We currently suspect three accused. We are working to arrest them quickly and determine the exact motive for the murder," the Additional DCP said. The victim's body was moved to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem. Based on a complaint from the victim's family, a case has been registered under Section 103(1) (murder) of the BNS against Sohail and others.
