Influencer Anwar Khan Booked for Sexual Assault, Gun Threat

A social media influencer has been booked in a case of alleged sexual assault and for threatening the survivor at gunpoint. The Sahar police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the suspect, Anwar Khan, based on a complaint received from the survivor, who is employed with the Ministry of External Affairs. The case was registered after the survivor learned that Khan had posted explicit pictures of her on social media.

Incident Details

The case was registered on Monday after the survivor approached the police. Khan allegedly threatened her at gunpoint after repeatedly sexually assaulting her. A police officer from the Sahar police station stated, "Khan has gone into hiding ever since he learned that the FIR has been registered against him. Teams have been formed to nab him."

Survivor's Account

According to the survivor, Khan, known for showcasing a lavish lifestyle online, befriended her on social media. In the FIR, she stated: "Khan has repeatedly sexually assaulted me at multiple locations, along with physical abuse, harassment, and coercion. He also threatened me at gunpoint and warned of death when I asked him to marry."

Legal Provisions Invoked

A case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 69 (sexual intercourse obtained through deceitful means, such as a false promise to marry), 89 (miscarriage), 115 (2) (hurt), 351 (2) (criminal intimidation), and under the Information Technology Act section 67 (A) has been registered against Khan. The police are actively searching for the accused, who remains at large.
