Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor were once one of Bollywood's most talked-about couples, but their co-star Vishwanath Chatterjee from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani has now disclosed that he never observed any signs of a budding romance between them during the film's production. Instead, he recalled being deeply impressed by Katrina's discipline, fitness, and dedication to her craft.
No Romance on Set
In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Vishwanath was questioned about whether he noticed any romantic spark between Ranbir and Katrina while filming Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Dismissing the speculation, he stated, “Nothing like that was happening on set, sir. Rajkumar Santoshi ji was sitting there; could anything happen in front of him? Everyone there was the most obedient child. Rajkumar Santoshi sir is the king, he is a lion. He immersed everyone so deeply in the story and characters, and pampered them so much, that we saw nothing of the sort.”
According to Vishwanath, director Rajkumar Santoshi maintained a highly disciplined atmosphere on set, ensuring that the cast remained intensely focused on their roles and the film.
Vishwanath Praises Katrina Kaif's Work Ethic
While he did not notice any romance between the actors, Vishwanath was full of admiration for Katrina's professionalism and commitment. Recalling a challenging sequence from the film, he shared, “We all, including friends and Ranbir himself, were amazed by Katrina's dedication and physical fitness. There was a scene where they had to climb a ladder from a boat and reach the bridge; Katrina ji climbed quickly.”
He further revealed that Katrina worked extensively on her dialogue delivery and consistently impressed the cast and crew with her dedication. “She also worked very hard on her speech. In terms of dedication, Katrina ji was at the top of the entire team. We all had a lot of fun,” he added.
