A heartwarming story from Kerala has gone viral, capturing global attention after a US tourist lost her debit card while traveling in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident highlights the kindness of a local man who went out of his way to return it.

The Lost Card Incident

The traveler, known as India Witkin on social media, shared her experience of leaving her debit card inside an ATM machine in a small beach town in Kerala during her solo trip across India. She did not realize the card was missing until she reached the capital city, Thiruvananthapuram.

According to her post, she had earlier visited a DHL office, where she exchanged contact numbers with an employee. After discovering the loss, she contacted the employee and asked if he could check whether the card was still at the ATM.

The Search and Discovery

The search seemed unlikely to succeed. However, nearly 24 hours later, the employee informed her that the card had been found lying on top of the ATM machine. The challenge then became getting the card back, as the tourist was scheduled to leave India in 36 hours. What happened next amazed both the tourist and the internet.

The Long Journey

Later that evening, the DHL employee called her. The man had reportedly traveled nearly six hours in a tuk-tuk with two of his friends to return her card. The entire journey took around 14 hours, according to the traveler. She offered him money in return, but he refused. Instead, he invited the traveler and her family to visit him when they come to Kerala again.

A Restored Faith

The employee’s name, the tourist revealed, was Krishna. She wrote, "Krishna, the Hindu god of love, compassion and protection. Tell me Karma doesn’t exist. Hopefully this story restores your faith in humanity because it did for me."

This act of kindness has gone viral, with many praising the man's selflessness and integrity. It serves as a reminder of the goodness that exists in the world, especially in the Indian state of Kerala, known for its hospitality and warm-hearted people.
