She believes several individuals tried to link themselves to the boxing great in hopes of gaining financial benefits and insists that many of those claims were never proven through proper testing.
The former wife of the three-time world heavyweight champion also reflected on the heartbreak caused by Ali's affairs during their nine-year marriage. Khalilah, who shared four children with the boxer, said his growing fame eventually changed their relationship. Khalilah Ali, now 76, was married to Muhammad Ali from 1967 until 1976 and witnessed both the highs of his boxing career and the difficulties in his personal life. She told The Sun that several women who had relationships with the boxing star later alleged that their children were his. According to her, she repeatedly encouraged paternity testing to establish the truth.
Khalilah said she believed some women may have attempted to connect their children to Ali because of his fame and wealth. She explained that while some claims were tested and disproved, other individuals never completed the process. In her view, many accusations remained unsupported by evidence.
The former actress also spoke about the strain caused by Ali's relationships outside their marriage. She recalled that his increasing celebrity status appeared to influence his behaviour and created growing distance between them. The situation became even more painful when Ali publicly acknowledged a child with another woman while still married to her. That moment convinced Khalilah that it was time to end the marriage.
