'KGF' star Yash's upcoming gangster drama 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' has been generating significant buzz despite multiple delays. The film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, recently became the subject of speculation regarding a romantic scene involving Yash and actress Kiara Advani.
Kiara Advani Addresses the Rumors
According to a report by Gulte, industry insiders suggested that Kiara had requested modifications to a bold romantic sequence after viewing the final output. The report claimed she had filmed the scene after being assured it would remain within her comfort zone but later had second thoughts. However, Kiara swiftly dismissed these claims. After spotting an Instagram post by Koimoi that read, 'Kiara Advani requests makers to tone down bold scenes with Yash in Toxic,' she reposted it on her Instagram Stories with the caption, 'Absolute nonsense!'
About the Film
'Toxic' is a Kannada-English project directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, with Venkat K Narayana and Yash as producers. Yash plays a dual role as Raaya and Ticket, while Kiara portrays the character Nadia. The ensemble cast also includes Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.
The film was announced in December 2023 and began production in August 2024, wrapping up by October 2025. Initially scheduled for release on April 10, 2025, it was postponed to 2026. A subsequent date of March 19, 2026, was also pushed due to the West Asian conflict, which helped avoid a box office clash with 'Dhurandhar 2'. The film will not release on June 4, 2026, either.
Yash's Comments on the Film
Earlier promotional material for 'Toxic' drew criticism for its sensual tone. Speaking at ComicCon, Yash praised Geetu Mohandas while interacting with American content creator Sabeen Faheem. He said, 'Thoughts are very clear, and she has a strong conviction in whatever she does. And she's a fabulous writer. I could learn so much, you know. The desire quotient or certain emotions, romance or sensuality, how a female can show, a woman can present is entirely different is what I've realized in this journey.'
