Kiccha Sudeep Defends Director Prem Amid Song Controversy

The film KD: The Devil has recently faced criticism over the Hindi version of its song 'Sarse Ninna Sarega Sarse' due to its lyrics. In response, Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep has spoken out, urging people to be kind and not to belittle director Prem when sharing their opinions.

During a press conference, as reported by Hindustan Times, Sudeep addressed the controversy. He highlighted Prem's previous work, stating, 'Prem has made songs in the past that have brought us closer to our parents, songs on mothers' love and emotions, which we've heard on loop.' Sudeep reminded the public of Prem's positive contributions to the industry.

He also noted that people outside Karnataka might not be familiar with Prem's body of work. 'People outside Karnataka can say what they wish to, but we should keep in mind the contribution this man has given,' Sudeep said. He refrained from judging the song's correctness, adding, 'I am not saying he has made a mistake with his song; sometimes, some things don't work, and it's okay.'

Sudeep on Social Media Reactions

The Vikrant Rona actor expressed regret over the harsh online discourse, stating that Prem was made to feel small. 'Social media is a space for people to share their opinions. But it is not right to make a man feel so small. Is it okay for us to be so harsh on our own people?' he questioned. Sudeep called for kindness and careful consideration before speaking.

Nora Fatehi and NCW Involvement

Amid the controversy, Nora Fatehi, who performed in the song alongside Sanjay Dutt, mentioned that she was unaware of the Kannada lyrics' meaning during the shoot and distanced herself from the issue. The matter escalated to the National Commission for Women, where Sanjay Dutt appeared and apologized, also pledging to support the education of 50 tribal children.

Kiccha Sudeep is set to make a cameo appearance in KD: The Devil. The film stars Dhruva Sarja in the lead role, with a supporting cast including Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, Jisshu Sengupta, and Nora Fatehi. The makers have announced that the film has received an 'A' rating from the CBFC and is scheduled for release on April 30.
