Kushal Tandon is making a comeback to the non-fiction genre after a hiatus of 12 years with the upcoming show The Alliance India. Based on a Dutch reality format and produced by Banijay Asia for Indian audiences, the series is reportedly set to stream on Prime Video.
While Kushal remained unavailable for comment, a source associated with the show confirmed his participation. “Kushal Tandon is the latest celebrity to come on board for the show. He is a strong personality and someone who doesn't shy away from speaking his mind. His participation will make the contestant lineup even more interesting because he brings a mix of confidence, charm, competitiveness, and raw emotions. He is also someone who understands the dynamics of reality television, which should work in his favour in a format like this,” the source said.
Daisy Shah is also reportedly among the participants. With contestants coming from different backgrounds, the makers are looking to create an interesting mix of personalities and strategies.
Format and Setting
The high-stakes competition series revolves around trust, strategy, and deception. Sixteen contestants are divided into teams of four and must navigate a game that tests their strategic thinking, teamwork, and social skills. As alliances shift and loyalties are challenged, one betrayer stands a chance of walking away with the prize money. The show is being filmed in a luxury mansion, adding another layer to the intense competition.
Kushal's Reality TV Journey
Kushal is no stranger to reality television. He first entered the non-fiction space with Nach Baliye 5 in 2012, followed by Bigg Boss 7 in 2013 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 5 in 2014. Since then, he has primarily focused on fiction projects and established himself as one of the most popular television stars.
Best known for his role in Beyhadh, Kushal was last seen in Barsatein - Mausam Pyaar Ka, which concluded its run two years ago. His return to reality television is expected to be one of the talking points surrounding the show.
Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Kushal also has a busy slate ahead. He has been signed for two web series backed by Ektaa Kapoor and is expected to begin shooting for them soon. As reported by us last month, the actor has also been signed exclusively by Ektaa Kapoor's talent management agency.
